The social media platforms that best integrate with my business are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. I think that YouTube would also be a great fit, but since I do not have any experience with producing videos, or a budget to hire someone who does, I think that platform will have to wait until next semester. I also plan to start using Google+ after reading the assignment and chapter and seeing how much influence they have.
I have enjoyed using Pinterest the most personally, because it is so easy to use. As soon as I go to the site, it automatically logs me in, and I do not have to re-post my blog articles the old fashioned way. I can simply input the link, it will pull up and images from the page, I then select the image and add some of the content from the post to it.
So far all of the above listed platforms have worked out very well as a daily use platform. I think that YouTube is the only exception for now, which will be used sparingly until I am able to produce videos with applicable content on a more frequent schedule.

ReplyDeleteI haven't really explored Pinterest for business use myself but did see that a couple of the businesses I analyzed had Pinterest folders for theirs. I wonder if the male motorcycle crowd uses Pinterest? It may help your business turn up in search engines and your target market's female family and friends may even point them in your direction.
I agree with you on the idea that YouTube would benefit your business very much. Smart thinking on wanting to get started when the time is right and not start making videos right away.
ReplyDeletePinterest is an interesting choice. As Laura mentions, I wonder how many male motorcycle riders have or go on Pinterest? However, it is good to broaden your horizon as it never hurts to have more ways of being viewed.
I agree with you on using youtube as a less frequent tool. As far as social media goes, creating content to upload to youtube daily would be a daunting task. Maybe you can still use other youtube videos pertaining to streetbikes & cars to help drive traffic to your page. I do this and it helps widen my reach and ups my engagement on social media.
ReplyDeleteYour Facebook page is awesome!! I love the photos you post of motorcycles and it's great that you post so frequently! It looks like you post almost every day! I also love that you talk about how so many different platforms would all be great for you! Most people have just chosen 2, or maybe 3 platforms, but I love that you talk about 4-5 that would work for you! It's so important to reach as many people as possible, and having different platforms allows that to happen!
